Sunday (26 April) is World Pinhole Photography Day, an international event celebrating this retro lensless analogue technique.
It invites anyone, anywhere in the world, to make a pinhole picture (on Sunday) and scan it and upload it to the Pinhole Day website (pinholeday.org), where it will become part of an online gallery.

Need inspiration to get started? Turn to page 66 of the latest B+W (issue 313) for an introduction to the creative and technical aspects of pinhole photography by Darkroom London’s Catriona Gray.
Catriona says: ‘There’s a tendency to dismiss pinhole photography as a novelty, or as something you do before you learn how to use a ‘proper’ camera, but it’s so much more than just a teaching tool.
‘If you want an element of your practice that keeps you on your toes, gives room for infinite experimentation at minimal cost, and rejects the high-tech, high-budget pathway of commercial photography, pinhole is the answer.’
