In the mid 1970s Marlborough Gallery, which was seen as the world’s pre-eminent art gallery at the time, expanded its artist representation to include the leading photographers of the day. Among its acquisitions were images from Brassaï, Berenice Abbott and Bill Brandt, with the latter now set to be exhibited under the banner of ‘Bill Brandt: Beach Nudes’. Running from 27 June to 13 September it features some of the photographer’s most sought-after works.
