Part of the Royal Scottish Academy’s bicentenary programme, RSA200: Celebrating Together, PhotoDalkeith traces a line from founding RSA member David Octavius Hill to contemporary photographers including Thomas Joshua Cooper, Wendy McMurdo, Graham Fagen and Calum Colvin. The show explores Scotland’s rich photographic heritage and the evolution of photography as an art form.

Thomas Joshua Cooper is renowned for his evocative landscape photography, capturing the power and beauty of remote coastal environments. Late Afternoon is from Cooper’s Scattered Waters series, which documents the rivers of Scotland at source, stream and river.
Lady Constance, daughter of the 6th Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch (circa 1885), aged eight, from the Buccleuch Collection, is featured in a selection of images curated by Walter Dalkeith.
